Qiew

Qiew is a minimalistic and portable VRML/Inventor Viewer for Windows, MacOS X, and Linux. It is lightweight and small. It fits onto a pen drive and doesn't require installation. This way you can take your VRML models and presentation tool wherever you go. The project was started on December 6th, 2004.

Motivation

Why another VRML-Viewer? Prior to developing Qiew I evaluated VRML-Viewers for different platforms. On Windows there have been plenty of solutions, but all of them required to run an installation routine. On Linux I either didn't get them to work or they didn't work in the expected way or they were missing one or the other feature, which I needed. On Mac OS X the situation was similar. Therefore I decided to write Qiew - a small and lightweight program, that can run from a pen drive to display and present VRML models on the go.
